First Aid RESPONSE Instruction RPL Training Course

The First Aid Response Instructor Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) training course is referred to as: First Aid Response Instruction RPL, First Aid Responder Instructor RPL, First Aid Responder Instruction RPL, FAR Instructor RPL and FAR Instruction RPL.

This course enables first aid instructors to update their skills and  on successful competition of this course, train their participants on the new First Aid Response course.

Course Objectives

This course enables first aid instructors to update their skills and  on successful competition of this course, train their participants on the new First Aid Response course.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Update the first aid instruction qualification to the new recognised standard.
  • Explain the new developments in first aid.
  • Display up-to-date skills and knowledge related to the delivery of FAR courses.
Course Topics
  • Structure of the the new FAR course
  • Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs)
  • Participants will be allocated a topic from the new course and will be required to prepare and present that topic.
    This will include both the theory and skills element of the topic.
  • Participants wishing to refresh their CFR Instructor certification can request assessment on the day of this course.
Legislation

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007: Part 7 – Chapter 2: Regulation 165(1)(b) requires employers to designate at each place of work under the employer’s control the number of occupational first-aiders as is necessary, and to give first aid training at the place of work concerned.

Participants

A maximum of 8 participants can attend each FAR Instruction RPL training session.

Duration

FAR Instruction RPL training sessions are 1-day in duration.

Certification

On successful competition of the FAR Instruction RPL course participants will receive an Accredited Certificate. The certification will expire after 2 years.

Renewal

Participants are required to renew their training by completing refresher training. Renewals should happen before the certification expires, or sooner if indicated by their company’s risk assessment.

Course Entry Requirements

  • Participants will need to provide evidence of past certification
  • Participants will need to provide evidence of Occupational First Aid courses delivered
